How Does The Free Meal/snack Benefit Work At Google?

I am looking for perspectives from both employees, managers, and HR. Free meals has long been touted as a benefit of working at Google. So how does that work?
And how does management at Google administer the program/benefit?

Well, let’s see… there are lots of restaurants on the Google campus, most serve 3 free full meals a day. Basically, you walk in, sit down, order/pick up your food and eat. If your family is there, they can have lunch/dinner with you too. No money is exchanged… you have your ID on you, so they know you work there. Also, there are refrigerators all around to make sure no one is too far from food and drink. Also, my husband says that the food is “yummy”.
Yep, it’s a pretty good deal
